LEAD WITH LOVE

Nobody gets out alive. A sad fact...but truth. We all know our eventual fate. We don't get to stay here forever. At least not like this...as we are...now. No matter what you believe, whatever your religious faith or impressions of mortality may be...whether you believe we return in another form, body, place and/or time, get taken to the angelic gates of heaven, or suffer eternity in hell, only one thing is for certain. No matter how well you "do" this life...no matter how successful, kind, loving, giving, hard working, responsible, unselfish, etc...you have been (or the contrary of it all), you will not get out of here alive. Nobody does. We just don't always know when or how it will happen. That being said...how does that, if at all, affect the choices we make as we walk down this road of life?

I recently attended a TV festival in Austin predominantly so I could meet the star of my favorite show, "This is Us," Milo Ventimiglia. Because the show takes place over time periods throughout various decades, the audience is aware of when his character meets an untimely death. I asked the actor if knowing his tragic fate effects the choices he makes in playing the role.

His response was: "I just always choose to LEAD WITH HEART. Lead with LOVE. As the character and in real life. Lead with love and you can't lose."

In lieu of the many tragic recent events in the world and our country, I think we can all take Milo's advice. We never know what tomorrow will bring...but we do know that we don't get time back and that no matter what shoes we walk in or what roads we take on that journey, eventually we all will meet that same fate. So perhaps if we all lead that walk with love, we can live...and leave...with hearts that are full.
